This is a pretty good season, it's just kinda ruined overall by ecchi and lousy seiyuu casting in series that would otherwise have been epic awesome. Still, there're nice fighting shows and lots of of my favorite seiyuu in leading roles.

Hakuouki Reimeiroku

Similar to: Brave 10! And the rest of the Hakuouki series, except that there's now no annoying Chizuru. JOY TO THE WORLD.

Comment: Well, as in the above. This is Hakuouki made very much more palatable. Main character is now a guy, who is undeniably a bit of an idiot, but still much much better than Chizuru. Chizuru-less Hakuouki with all the gorgeous Hakuouki swordfighting and art. And our main guy has blue hair. Gorgeous all-male cast, no annoying damsel-in-distress Chizuru, what else is there to say? ^^ Admittedly the new male lead is rather useless too, but anything's better than Chizuru as far as I'm concerned. =.= This is definitely one of the things I look forward to watching every week~

Sword Art Online

Similar to: .hack series, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Shining Tears X Wind

Comment: So the basic plot is that everyone is trapped in an RPG by a mad RPG designing genius and the only way to get out is by defeating the game, which is not at all easy seeing as how it takes them a month to get to level 2 and there are 100 levels.... anyways, the sword skills are pretty cool (i..e you can use the sword like a normal physical sword, but there's additional stuff known as 'Sword Skills' which are like the usual powered-up RPG moves) and the main character Kirito is a guy with a nice seiyuu (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, voiced Narumi from Kami-sama no Memo-chou and is also voicing Godou from Campione this season). Not famous, but probably will be soon, seeing as the popularity of SAO is pretty high judging from other watch lists out there. The plot and the fighting are good to keep you on the edge of your seat, animation is better than a run-of-the-mill RPG, and art is, well, okay, a little above average but nothing in comparison to Hakuouki's dazzling gorgeous bishies. But definitely a good action anime! The main girl is also a really good sword fighter, which makes me very happy indeed - less of the useless protect-me-please girls is always good.

Arcana Famiglia

Similar to: Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn, Hanasakeru Seishounen, Ouran High, Hiiro no Kakera

Comment: After all the hype and anticipation, I have to say I'm very disappointed in this show. All those wonderful seiyuu, all in such terrible casting. Tomokazu Sugita sounds plain weird as Pache. And Kouji Yusa as Jolly makes me cringe every time he speaks. How the heck did his lovely light smooth drawl become that fake and almost creepy bass?l I think those two should seriously switch roles... >.> that aside, it seems reasonably okay, I enjoy Debito and his power of invisibility, and Pache's love for lasagna. Jun Fukuyama as Liberta is pretty cool, and Hiroshi Kamiya is the adorable tsundere Nova~ ^^ Main character Felicita, well, as good a female character as one can expect of a show where everyone is competing for her hand in marriage.... =/ A fun fighting show, though I think the art could be a tad prettier. (Has anyone seen the preview for K? OMG. That's the level I want mannnn.)

Natsuyuki Rendevous

Similar to: Hachimitsu to Clover, AnoHana

Comment: Jun Fukuyama in the role of a pretty but jealous and as it happens, dead husband and Nakamura Yuichi as the not-particularly-attractive subordinate trying to get together with Rocca, the female lead. I really like Rocca - she's a refreshingly different female lead, a widow, the boss of and 10 years older than the male lead, and with very, very short black hair. This is a sweet slice of life story set in Rocca's flower shop, with her ghostly husband thrown in to jazz things up a bit. A really nice watch.

Tari Tari

Similar to: K-ON, AnoHana, HanaIro, Sakamichi no Apollon

Comment: Okay, I admit I only really like this because the art is pretty. AnoHana and HanaIro style of happy pretty shoujoness. There's not much plot to speak of yet, but it is definitely music-related - they set up a choir group, a little different from the usual band, but I have a feeling it's going in the direction of a band. Whether that is a good thing or not is difficult to say at this point. =/ The gags are also a little sweatdrop-y, with a girl who rides her horse every morning and a guy who believes Japanese practices are still the same as they were in the Edo period... still, a decent feel-good shoujo-happy school life show, as far as I'm concerned.

Dog Days Dash

Similar to: Dog Days

Comment: Basically the same fluff and bubbles of the first season, though I think they're laying on the fanservice even thicker this time. =( The new characters introduced this season (squirrels!) and the extra romance-y-ness are annoying enough to tip this show over the thin line between sweet-happy-fluffy-cute and annoying-squeaky-pink-cute. Another disappointment for me, though if you are a diehard kemonomimi fan this works.

Campione!

Similar to: Toaru Majutsu no Index, just a lot more ecchi.

Comment: Basically about a guy who gets dragged into the magic universe by a pretty girl, somehow becomes a really good fighter, and now has pretty girls with him all over the place while he fights other strong guys. Thick on the fanservice as well, clearly male-oriented, which makes me unhappy. =( Only thing I liked was that the male lead was cute and voiced by the same seiyuu as the male lead in Sword Art Online, and that wasn't enough for me to continue. I stopped after 2 episodes. =/

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica

Similar to: Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi, Campione!

Comment: This is one of those shows where I'm torn between my aversion to ecchi and my love of good seiyuu and fantasy art. This show has everything going for it - good art, good plot with plenty of fighting action, good seiyuu (main is Nobuhiko Okamoto - Accelerator from Toaru Majutsu no Index, and his rival is Takahiro Sakurai - Suzaku from Code Geass ), and even girls who are pretty good fighters rather than being completely useless. But. But. And this is a very big BUT here. The ecchi. Much too much of it. Rather like for Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi, the over-the-top male fanservice just ruins the whole thing for me. This makes Campione! look very tame in comparison. It's just not something you can watch in a house when your parents may walk in at any moment. And I was so looking forward to it! ;;A;;

--------

Sooooo yeah. I'm getting by with the first 5 series listed here and stuff from previous seasons like Kuroko no Basuke and Hyouka, and waiting eagerly for Autumn 2012 when the epic K (my god the preview looks sooooo good~) should be coming out.
